To extend the lifetime of your jewellery:
- Put it on after your make-up / getting-your-hair-done routine.
- Avoid exposure to household chemicals since it can discolour the surface of the jewellery.
- Take them off during exercise/showers/sleep/doing dishes.
- Store your jewellery one by one - so it doesn’t get scratches on the surface.
- Both crystals, pearls, gold and silver are sensitive to impact from other materials, so wear and handle them with care.
Sterling silver might react to the oxygen in the air and this can cause the silver to darken (become oxidized.) To refresh your silver jewellery, polish it and use homemade cleaners, better for you and better for the jewellery. See recipe below.
Gold vermail (Minimum 2,5 micron Gold-plating on sterling silver) please note that the 18 carat gold-plating is a delicate surface and will fade over time, but it can be restored by a goldsmith. Contact with sweat, clothes, skin, hard surfaces, perfume, hairspray and other might cause this process to go faster so please follow our care-advise to slow it down.
Pearls should never be stored in plastic or similar airtight material. Since pearls are an organic material is needs both oxygen and moisture to keep its shine. Avoid contact with following substances that may cause damages to the surface of the pearl, the silver & the gold; chlorined water, chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, hairspray, perfume, cosmetics and vinegar.
Do not use for goldplated silver or jewellery containing pearls.
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon dish soap
Aluminium foil
2 1/2 dl Boiling water
Cover up a bowl with aluminium foil with the dull side facing down. Boil water. Pour it in the bowl and then add salt, dish soap and baking soda. This will fizz! Stir. Put down your silver jewellery in the solution. Wait 8-10 minuts. (this chemical reaction might smell rotten eggs)
Rinse the jewellery with water and dry. This chemical reaction will clean your silver in a moment!
